What’s the job of a conductor? Michael Wende (born 1982) tries to find an answer to this question with his final project movie “Der Taktstock” (“The baton”) at the University of Applied Sciences Deggendorf, Germany. The story: An animated figure of a Baton-Designer is following 12 young conductors from all over the world, gathered 10 days in Bamberg to win the world’s most honored conducting battle: The Gustav-Mahler-Conducting-Competition.
